Being a tree

Here in the northeast, the leaves have begun to change color and fall gracefully toward Mother Earth. While this beautiful and age-old phenomenon appears, on the surface, to be a passive detachment, it actually involves intentional actions from the tree, including the release of certain hormones causing each leaf to separate from its branch.

This subtle-yet-powerful process allows the tree to save precious energy and conserve water in its trunk through winter. As always, there is so much more than meets the eye.

And, as always, nature is a perfect mirror to our human experience.

As the nights grow longer and the temperatures invite us to slow down, it feels so right to turn your attention inwards. You can take the time to reflect on the wheel of the year and notice what is working and what is not.

What am I ready to release? How can I adapt to who I am becoming?

This time of year, provides an optimal opportunity to tune in to your own well of inner knowing. To tap in to your wise intuition, all you might need is to create space for intentional moments of silence and stillness.

And really listen. I hope that you take time for yourself and go within.

After all, there’s so much more to you than meets the eye.
