Being seen

Last winter I co-facilitated a workshop with my dear friend, Rianne Vestuto, and during our preparations she said something really profound that stuck with me. She said, “It’s so vulnerable to lead.”

As someone who often thinks about the dynamics of leadership, I hadn’t actually thought of that. But it makes so much sense. To lead is an act of revelation. The vast majority of people fear public speaking more than death. Why? Because when you speak, you share your heart and your energy, and this reveals part of your soul.

It's no small feat to stand with confidence in your soul’s journey. You can always pretend. You can try to “fake it until you become it” (as I did for many years). Or you can embark on a very courageous journey… perhaps one that’s been calling you…

In this moment, you are the leader of your soul’s journey. If you’re reading this, you’ve already been on the path for quite some time. Perhaps this is a moment to remember that vulnerability is just as important and meaningful as strength. When we’re vulnerable, we receive profound opportunities to learn and grow. And when we share our hearts in community, we help to water the roots of leadership taking hold in the hearts of others.

Balancing your energy can greatly help to restore the fortitude and bravery that are essential to lead. In particular, modalities like the akashic records and reiki can assist you in coming into greater resonance with your soul’s path.

So as the tender buds within your heart begin to bloom, I encourage you to take up space. Speak up. Allow yourself to be seen. And honor your soul’s courageous unfolding.
